As of 2005, the city is estimated to have a total population of 35,745. Castle Rock is now the 19th most populous municipality in Colorado.

History of Castle Rock
Castle Rock is actually a product of a generous donation from one Jeremiah Gould that helped not only create the now town of Castle Rock, but also Douglas county, which all happened in 1874. This was when Castle Rock was actually founded as a town, which over the years has become know for the southern Colorado landscape and terrain. Today Castle Rock has been known as the country part of Douglas county, which has a renowned school system. From 1986 to 2006 Castle Rocks's own Castle Pines held the Castle Pines PGA golf tournament, which has made an impact on many local and foreigners to the beautiful Castle Rock scenery.

Castle Rock Community
The community in Castle Rock makes anyone seem at home. However it is no longer the little town it once was back in 1874, with the Castle Rock Outlets, and the firmly developed town it now has both the modern and quaint small business feel. The once only County town has been developed so that everyone can enjoy the Town, without need to be a country person.
